What kind of data are you pulling from your program? Is it insightful and actionable?Īs a business owner, having actionable data to drive decision-making is crucial. When seeking new accounting system options, be sure to review how well the system can address sales tax compliance. If your business conducts business in multiple states, you understand the headache of navigating sales tax. If you have multiple locations and need to track your business’s inventory, this may be a good time to seek out a more robust ERP system. How well was that add-on working for your business? There are many ERP options out there with customizable features and data integrations that make having a centralized source for all data a reality. What do your current enterprise resource planning (ERP) needs look like? Where do you want them to be in the future?ĮRP software typically goes hand in hand with accounting software, as it did with the Enterprise Solutions add-on with QuickBooks Desktop. Not sure where to start? Here are some helpful considerations to think through before you make the next step: If you currently use QuickBooks Desktop 2020, now is the time to evaluate your options and make the switch to a new program. If you don’t use any add-ons, you can still use the Desktop program, but you will no longer have access to key functions such as live technical support, and Intuit will no longer be updating the program with the latest security releases. After that date, access to add-on services will end for the application on Windows, including all 2020 versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier and Enterprise Solutions. Intuit recently announced that they would be discontinuing QuickBooks Desktop 2020 effective May 31, 2023. would a refund actually be necessary ? I feel it is definitely worth saving $360 if all I need to do is make a phone call to get it registered or. Is there any reason not to purchase from a wholesale re seller and. I am looking for any input to those experienced in upgrading outside of QB Intuit with (3) user workstations and the company file resides on the server. The only added value of downloading direct via Intuit is the product is already registered in the system and refunds are more difficult. They responded their company does not allow them to price match wholesale re-sellers (even though the software comes from Intuit via Amazon LLC) They further explained we could purchase through any re seller but are required to contact QB support to register the product after download / install. I explained I found the exact same software at Amazon for $440 but would prefer to download from Intuit. I contacted QB sales to get download price for Desktop Pro 2020 (3 User License) since it is a requirement for us to continue using the payroll add on, they advised cost was $800. (To save us the hourly IT labor rate we perform much of our maintenance in house and have successfully upgraded all workstations from Win 7 to Windows 10 while also handling all QB updates without outside IT assistance) They suggested we download Desktop Pro 2017 directly from QB Intuit advising it would be the most "seamless" download to avoid any potential issues between server and workstations. All 3 of our users are on a network setup in 2017 by an outside IT provider. We currently have a 3 User License for QB Desktop Pro 2017 with "Basic" payroll add on. Apologies in advance if this post is in wrong thread.
